Our Butler Colonial grandfathers gave us the gift of Freedom in 1776. Zachariah Butler, and his sons Patrick, and James were part of a revolution that changed the course of history.
Do we take it for granted today..sometimes I think we do.
The courage to come to America and the courage to rebel against England is in our DNA.

Greetings! I stumbled across your blog of Butlers after doing a google search for Peter Patrick Butler, son of Patrick Butler. Peter Patrick would be my Great-Great-Great grandfather, Patrick would be my Great-Great-Great-Great and Zackriah would be my 5x great grandfather! This is unbelievable. You have done a tremendous job with this blog and I am TICKLED to have found it.
My last name is Butler, but believe it or not, it's not from those Butlers... My father is a Butler, his father a Butler, his father a Butler, and HIS father was married to Sarah Scott, who was first a Butler... this is Peter Patrick's daughter, Patrick's granddaughter, Zackeriah's great-granddaugther. If this makes ANY sense.... THIS is what i found on Ancestry... now it could be wrong, but I think I just discovered that my Great-Grandad Butler married another Butler. *Sigh* Hopefully they were only distantly kin. His parents were Samuel and Nathan Butler but I am lacking info on them.
ANYWAY, with all that being said I am tickled to see that you found all this. You have done a wonderful job finding photos and whatnot. I wish I could sort through the details, for I haven't the patience... so many children of so many people.
Thank you for what you do. I'd love for you to get in touch with me. butlerbd@gmail.com
